Si torna in pista dopo l'estate

È stata lunga l'attesa estiva dell'International GT Open, che ha concesso a team e piloti il tempo per rilassarsi e insieme per prepararsi al ritorno in pista, atteso ormai dallo scorso luglio. Marco Frezza si fa trovare pronto all'appuntamento. "Mi sono preso la meritata pausa di riposo, ma soprattutto ho dedicato tanto tempo all'allenamento," racconta il pilota milanese alla vigilia del suo rientro alle gare. "Anche lasciando spazio a qualche sport divertente e prettamente estivo, come la moto d'acqua." La passione per i motori, insomma, non lo abbandona mai, anche lontano dalle piste. Questo weekend, però, si ricomincia a fare sul serio e il teatro della ripresa delle ostilità sarà la leggendaria pista di Brands Hatch, una delle più tecniche e difficili del panorama europeo. "E' un tracciato che conosco già bene, qui ho addirittura già colto un podio in passato," spiega fiducioso Marco. "Mi piace molto la sezione veloce, che mette a dura prova noi piloti." Quello inglese sarà il sesto appuntamento della stagione, che vede Marco Frezza dividere insieme al portoghese Pedro Couceiro l'abitacolo della Ferrari 430 GT2 del team svizzero Kessel Racing. Negli ultimi appuntamenti prima della sosta estiva, il campionato di Frezza ha subito una brusca accelerazione, con le sue prime due vittorie, che lo hanno portato a ridosso della vetta della classifica. Ora il leader del campionato Jean-Philippe Dayrault, portacolori del Luxury Racing, è staccato di due soli punti, 58 contro 56. Un vantaggio minimo che lascia aperta una battaglia tutta Ferrari per la leadership della classifica GTS. Nella gara di Brands Hatch, Marco avrà dalla sua l'assenza di handicap di tempo grazie al primo e al quarto posto dell'ultimo appuntamento. In quanto agli obiettivi, ormai il giovane pilota non lascia più spazio alla prudenza e non pensa più alla singola gara, ma in ottica titolo: "L'unico mio obiettivo per questo weekend è quello di superare Dayrault e conquistare la leadership di campionato," annuncia. Questo weekend sarà leggermente modificato anche il programma delle gare, che saranno entrambe disputate alla domenica, mentre le prove libere e le qualifiche saranno condensate nella giornata di sabato. English version Back on track after the summer It has been a long summer holiday for International GT Open, which gave teams and drivers the time to relax and at the same time to prepare themselves for the return on track, waited for since last July. Marco Frezza is ready for the event: "I took a deserved rest break, but above all I dedicated a lot of time to training," the driver from Milan tells before his comeback to racing. This weekend, though, it's serious stuff again and the theatre of the new battle is the legendary Brands Hatch, one of the most technical and difficult tracks in Europe. "It's a track that I already know well, where I even took a podium in the past," Marco explains confidently. "I like the fast section very much, that is so hard on us drivers." The English event will be the sixth of the season, which sees Marco Frezza split with the Portuguese Pedro Couceiro the cockpit of the Swiss team Kessel Racing's Ferrari 430 GT2. In the last races before thte summer break, Frezza's championship had an important acceleration with his first two wins, which brought him close to the top of the standings. Now the championship leader Jean-Philippe Dayrault, Luxury Racing's driver, is just two points away, 58 vs 56. A minimum advantage which leaves an all-Ferrari battle for the GTS standings lead wide open. In Brands Hatch's race, Marco will have the advantage of no time handicaps thanks to the first and fourth placet in the last round. About his goals, the young driver leaves no place to carefulness anymore and doesn't think to the single race, but to the title: "My only goal for this weekend is to overtake Dayrault and gain the championship lead," he announces. This weekend the timetable will also be slightly modified. Both races will be held on Sunday, while free practice and qualifying will be condensed on Saturday.
